La Academia held its Open House at Monterey Peninsula College on Sun January 19. Under sunny skies and warm winter weather, over a dozen youth players worked with staff on a variety of skills activities. Coaches joined players in small-sided games at both the start and end of the session. Director of Coaching Mark Cisneros concluded the Open House outlining with the players the basics of our philosophy:
- Individual focus
- Willingness to take risks and fail in order to learn and grow
- A supportive environment
This was our first event of what we hope will be a long partnership with the Monterey Bay Area soccer community.
